‘Enabling Works’ or preparation of the Baird and ANCHOR site for the main construction phase started in November 2018 and were completed in July 2019. The works saw the demolition of three buildings (Eye Outpatient Clinic, Breast Screening Clinic and the former Foresterhill Health Centre) as well as a series of road realignment, water attenuation and underground service diversion works. A section of Foresterhill Road was closed for 8 weeks between March and May 2019 while a series of underground works was completed. A new car park was also created for the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital.
Here are some photos showing how the sites changed.
